Bio – Paul Heald

Paul graduated with a degree in French and European studies from Keele University in the UK, followed by post-graduate certification in education [Master’s degree] from the University of Manchester (UK), before starting his career as a teacher. Having become more and more involved in IT projects through the course of his teaching profession, including chairing technology-liaison committees, assisting with the transfer of student systems, and assisting other faculty retrain with new information systems, he decided to change his focus from teaching to technology.
After moving to Washington DC, he earned his Master’s of Science degree in Information Systems Technology at the George Washington University. He received his certificate of Professional Development at Wharton in Finance and Accounting. Since graduating, he has been employed by Sigma Systems, Inc. working in the Washington, DC Office. He is employed on a number of projects, including the Kuali Student Accounts (KSA) and Student Financial Aid (KSFA) initiatives and Boston College’s KSA implementation. He has also been active in work with LETSI, SIF, PESC and other standards bodies.
Paul was the architect and designer of the Kuali Student Accounts project, which is now a part of Boston College’s Eagle Apps software. In the last few years, Paul has helped to produce some white-label financial aid packages, as well as the current suite of MyFi- software offerings.
